Answer: Sir, these kinds of noises are normal for the DSG DQ200 (dry clutch) When I heard that answer, I immediately sold my car, which was only 5 months old and still under warranty!!!!!
Translated from TurkishFor my 2015 1.2 TSI Golf, I'm going to get a DSG service done — does anyone have a reliable service recommendation, guys?
Translated from TurkishMy car is a 2017 model at 230,000 km, I'm running it problem-free on the original clutch and mechatronic unit, only the pressure tube was replaced 🙋♂️
Translated from TurkishThe benefits of the reinforced tube are debatable. I'd had doubts about my DSG tube for a while, so while replacing it we said let's put in a reinforced one. So if you ask me, it doesn't really do anything, at least it has no effect on driving. Whether it'll affect the DSG's lifespan, time will tell.
Translated from TurkishShuddering in 2nd gear, shuddering in 3rd gear, failing to engage in 6th gear. One flywheel and one clutch replacement.
Translated from TurkishI used to own a 2010 1.8 TFSI CC. If I wrote down all the problems I had it'd be a whole novel - God grant patience to VW owners. Get rid of it as soon as possible :)
Translated from TurkishHi. We have a 2018 model 2.0 TDI DSG Caddy, 6-speed wet clutch. When we opened the coolant reservoir cap, the coolant had turned coffee-colored and thickened, and when you checked it by hand it had an oily texture. It had basically turned into something like tahini, as you'd know it. As I suspected, the gearbox oil cooler had burst and the gearbox oil had mixed into the coolant. Between the gearbox oil cooler, gearbox oil, gearbox mount, coolant reservoir and antifreeze, it cost around 20k.
Translated from TurkishHi, on my 2015 1.4 TSI Golf, in 3rd, 5th and 7th gears there was RPM fluctuation and failure to engage the clutch when getting on the gas. The mechatronic solenoids, a reinforced tube fitting, and the clutch were replaced. No problem for now.
Translated from TurkishI had to replace it at 50,000 km — it had problems like not responding to throttle and shuddering on takeoff, and it was annoying.
Translated from TurkishThe 2014 A3 1.6 TDI DSG is funny — the car only shifted into 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th gears, it skipped 2nd, 4th, 6th.
Translated from TurkishI had a 2010 VW Golf Mk6. It gave me a mechatronic unit fault a full 4 times. It also had a clutch fault once.
Translated from TurkishI drive a 2013 Jetta automatic. After pulling away, when shifting into 2nd gear it very rarely knocks, sometimes it doesn't at all. Has anyone else had the same issue?
Translated from TurkishHello, in our household we have a Superb 1.6 TDI, a Polo 1.2 TSI, and a Scala 1.0 TSI. The Superb's gear shifts are incredibly fast and smooth, both upshifting and downshifting, and our Polo is the same, smooth with no noise at all. The Superb has 100k km, the Polo 65k km, and the Scala 23k km. On the Scala I hear a lot of transmission noise, and also, when I leave the car to move off on half-clutch, whether in 1st or 2nd gear, when it's crawling at 4-5 km/h with no throttle at all, I hear a sound from the DSG that sounds like a loose bearing/ball noise under pressure. What could the problem be?
Translated from Turkish1. It rattles, especially between 1st and 2nd gear, it doesn't cause a problem, don't worry about it. 2.If you get stuck in heavy traffic and put it in manual, crawling in 1st gear won't move the transmission along - if you keep doing that repeatedly you might hear a squeaking-like sound. 3. It clunks over speed bumps and potholes, that's very normal, nothing happens, don't worry. 4. If you're seeing this and you're on this forum because your car has a shudder, congratulations in advance on your new clutch
Translated from TurkishI own a 2017 A3 and a 2020 Ateca. I haven't had any problems with my Ateca yet, it's at around 20,000 km. My A3 is now at 105,000 km and vibrations have started. At 65,000 km I changed the transmission oil, etc. Most recently, about 5 months ago at 99,000 km, I put it on a lift, there was no visible oil leak or oil loss. If I don't change the car, I'm planning to replace the clutch around 120,000 km. Right now independent shops charge figures like 40-50 thousand to replace it.
Translated from TurkishThere's a gear-grinding noise when I let off the gas, no matter which mechanic I go to they all say it's normal
Translated from TurkishHello. I own a 2020 Mk7.5 1.5 TSI Golf. I bought the car at 90K km, it's now at 94K km. The clutch was replaced at an authorized service center at 67K km. When I bought it, the authorized service said that interval was normal. The day I got the car I had DSG optimization software done, I'm very happy with it. The transmission's indecisiveness has largely disappeared. Also, it won't shift from 1st to 2nd until 14 km/h, and it won't drop back to 1st until it goes below 14. I personally think this extends its lifespan.
Translated from TurkishAcross 3 different Leons of mine I've used DSG for about 100,000 km total; the clutch was only changed once, and that was because of the previous owner having driven it a bit roughly - other than that I haven't had any problems. The Formentor I'm currently driving also has the wet clutch coded DQ381, and I'm quite happy with it.
Translated from TurkishI bought a 2012 Audi A3 (DQ200) last year. The previous owner said the clutch and the whole gearbox had been overhauled at 100k. I bought it at 137k km. I drove it for about 3 months, then it stopped shifting into gear. I managed for a week, then the whole clutch, the mechatronic unit, the gearbox - all went to the scrapyard. It cost 100k TL. A week later the clutch went again. We noticed that the DSG's chronic habit of trying to pull away in 2nd gear was really affecting it. A software flash was done for transmission adaptation and to extend the gear ratios.
Translated from TurkishPart 2: after that I drove the car for 3-4 more months, but there were knocking noises and overheating. Excessive flywheel/clutch shudder in heavy traffic, unnecessary vibrations at idle, and gearbox whine that wouldn't go away irritated me so much that I sold the car to get rid of it and avoid going through the same thing again. So what I'm saying is, DSG is a regret. Most of the people writing "nothing happened to me" probably don't live in a big city - I think the quality of the transmission shows itself in heavy traffic over the medium to long term
