Egea front grille

I painted my car's grille metallic with a marker pen; many Egea owners, taxi drivers, etc., do this. I stopped because it takes a long time, thinking I'd continue later. My father wanted to paint it but ruined it. Does anyone know how to remove the paint? They say thinner damages plastic, and acetone didn't work either.
