My car has stage 1 software on it. Honestly there's not much to do for stage 1 - depending on the car's mileage you delete the EGR/particulate filter, then get the software flashed, and optionally add an open air filter so the car breathes better and gets some more life in it. The real deal actually starts from stage 2 onward, mate. There are parts you need to replace there, and since those parts are priced in foreign currency, the cost goes up too. But stage 1 is a good price/performance move. That's my take on it.

You're welcome, no need to thank me. Honestly, for stage 2 you definitely need to touch the exhaust too, because after a certain point the car starts choking, and the first and most important step for that is the downpipe. That means widening the section connecting the turbo outlet to the exhaust, and that's also where things like cat-delete are done. The goal is to let the exhaust gases flow out much more freely and speed up the turbo's charge/discharge cycle. After that you also need to go over the intercooler, because you need to keep the heat buildup in the engine and turbo in balance.

I thought the same actually. What I have in mind is: a nice exhaust system, downpipe, cat delete, an overhaul of the pressure hoses and coolant hoses, EGR delete, turbo overhaul (it has a variable-geometry turbo, if anyone knows whether a hybrid setup is needed, please write), injector service, an open-air filter for the airbox, intercooler and radiator service, maybe fuel pump and oil pump replacement, and finally I want to move on to software.

Honestly, injector cleaning is very important since you're starting to build a performance-focused machine. Replacing the turbo wheels probably falls under Stage 3 territory now. You either swap the wheels and go hybrid, or fit a big turbo.
