I generally hear that RaceChip opens up the values in an uncontrolled way. That when it's removed, some values stay in the ECU, and so on. If your car is flashable, I'd recommend going with a good tuner and a fixed map instead.

RaceChip gave my car +41 hp +45 Nm of torque; if I wanted to do it at RSA now it requires an unlock, and the price ends up a bit too high — on paper the power it gives is almost the same, so honestly I'm undecided.

I had used it on my F30. When I last set it to 7, the check engine light came on, it was a rich air-fuel mixture error. When I set it to 6, I used it with no problems. But I don't think it actually gives 40 horsepower
