Greetings, love and respect Since the B38 is a 3-cylinder turbocharged engine, it's possible to do performance software for a power increase, but I'd recommend getting files that have been tested over long distances abroad. Some software done here in our country does increase power but can cause mechanical damage to the engine. We've come across cases where the piston ring lands cracked. At our shop we run a B38-engined F30 stock, and we're quite happy with it.

Hello, thanks a lot, thank you for the information you gave. So, what could we do if we installed an open air filter, or for a performance boost, do you have any recommendations?

I've been running a Stage 1 B38 for a year, the only thing is the manifold cracks, and that cracks even if you don't do anything at all. I also run a downpipe. On a 1.5 TSI Stage 1 I'm getting up to about 180[hp].

I've been driving a tuned B38 418i for about 2 years now. My suggestion to you is to increase how often you change spark plugs and coils, and pay attention to the wastegate adjustment. Other than that I haven't had any problems.
