Are springs enough for lowering?

Original Poster

Good day everyone. I have a 1.4 turbo Astra J and I want to shorten the gap between the tire and the fender and drop it by 3-3.5cm. My aim is both to improve grip and to get rid of the stork-like look. A sport spring seems to be enough for this, but is it safe to do it with the existing shocks, or should I go with a whole shock+spring set instead?

Switch to sport springs plus wider-section tires, if it's a 225 fit a 235 for example, and a wheel change would also improve the look. As it is, get under the car and check how close the tire gets to touching the wheel well when you turn the wheel fully, then widen the tire section accordingly.

One of the cars I'm considering is LPG compatible and turbo, and it's really good-looking too - would you recommend it?

The versions with the 1.6 naturally aspirated engine are LPG compatible, but if you're getting the 1.4 turbo, go without LPG. I'm extremely happy with my car, I'd recommend it.
