Hi, I bought this car two years ago because I was told the engine had no mechanical issues, but before I'd even driven it for a month, one of the injector modules in the ECU burned out. When we opened it up we found out it had already been repaired before, and after that I ran into a string of faults, one after another. It wore me down and I spent every penny I had trying to fix all the problems — I couldn't do anything cosmetic to the car at all. On top of all that, on our last long trip, right as we entered our hometown on the way home, the timing belt snapped. I didn't realize that was the beginning of the end. The next day I took it to a mechanic I supposedly trusted, and after 4 days I picked the car up from the shop, ran a few errands, and headed home. About 10 minutes later someone called saying the car was on fire, and I rushed straight to it. When I'd picked it up from the shop there was a smell of gasoline inside — I didn't think much of it, figured they'd wiped something down with gasoline. But sadly, all I could do was stand there helplessly and wait for the fire department to put it out. After that, no matter how much I trust a mechanic, I decided I would never again have work done by an independent garage. At least have some paperwork in place, so that if something happens to us, we have someone accountable to deal with.

Sorry to hear that, unfortunately it's very hard to find people who'll do a proper job.
