First of all, hello. My car has a ZF8HP70 transmission, and it also has a Stage 1 tune plus an XHP Stage 2 TCU map on it. What I want to ask is about the oil and filter change. When I wanted to change the transmission oil and filter, the BMW and ZF service said it's a lifetime fill and didn't recommend changing it. But I've also read posts saying that since the engine and transmission are tuned, it should be changed every 60,000 km. Could anyone with more experience on this, or who knows which option makes sense, help me out? Engine and transmission health are quite good, no issues in the tests, but I have no information about the oil and filter health. Regards
Translated from TurkishAfter an oil and filter change, the car might jerk and knock for a while, but it goes back to normal after some time. Just so you know. If you get it done, don't be scared - there's no such thing as a "lifetime" oil; in fact, due to evaporation your transmission oil could even be low. I'd recommend changing it - even if your car has no tune on it, you should still change it.
Translated from TurkishThanks for the comment. The shuddering and break-in period you mentioned — is that just something like a 20-30km mixed-driving TCU software adaptation, or is it a longer process? My intention either way is to do the replacement and then the software adaptation, but doing the software adaptation before the knocking/shuddering you mentioned goes away doesn't seem too sensible either — the TCU might learn a different driving character this time around.
