My Honda Civic, which I bought in June 2019, broke its transmission at 111,000 km while driving at low speed on a straight road. Since the day I bought it I've never skipped a service, having it done every 10,000 km, so it's getting a free transmission replacement under the goodwill warranty. Until a few days ago I believed that people saying the Civic's CVT breaks were just talking the market down, but if it happened to me, someone who never strained the transmission and had it serviced regularly, it can happen to anyone. The bad part is, if it hadn't been replaced under warranty, the dealer would have charged 450 thousand TL, and independent mechanics 230 thousand TL, to replace the transmission. For a car whose current value is 1.3-1.4 million, these figures are, in my opinion, outrageous, so whoever you are, when looking at a Civic, look for listings that were dealer-serviced and had the transmission fluid changed on time.
