I was looking at cars in the same price range about 2-3 months ago. Ended up buying a 2014 Mini Cooper S Paceman. The W204 is really nice and eye-catching, being a Mercedes is an extra advantage, a star is a star :) If you want to look at slightly newer alternatives, there's the Countryman S John Cooper Works with 211hp, or if you want to play it a bit safer, a 2015-ish 1 Series is also a good option I think.
