Would you recommend it? I like this car's design and interior. Should I go for the fullest package?

I definitely recommend it. We've had the car since 2008, meaning we bought it brand new. Since that year I haven't gone to the service center except for maintenance. It never had any issues or refused to run. Routine maintenance is done every 10,000 km and major services every 3 years. In terms of interior design, the front really feels spacious and the trunk is quite sufficient. My car is listed as the extreme package. The seats and the front console have blue accents, and there's a chrome accent on the gauge cluster. It has steel wheels, rear parking sensors, and fog lights.

Also my favorite body style is this one — the facelift has a slightly softer design, I don't really like that body style. The engine is also trouble-free, and I recall dropping to around 4.7 liters when driving steadily at 100-110 km/h. Even though it's naturally aspirated and a 1.2L engine, I think it's plenty sufficient. Also it has a 55L fuel tank, and when you fill the tank up you get a range of 980-1070 km. If you want, I can send you detailed photos of my car or answer any questions you'd like to ask. By now this Clio has become like a limb of mine :)

Also, its handling really has high limits for its class. It can even surprise you. Right now it has Continental UltraContact summer tires on it.

I'm thinking of it as the household's second car. I'll mostly get it for commuting to work and going to the market/grocery store. But there's something on my mind. They don't really recommend the automatic transmission, but I don't want to get a manual either. I don't know if a transmission failure would wear me out a lot.

I wouldn't recommend the automatic transmission either. Because with 4 forward gears it stays very indecisive during gear changes and revs loudly. Fuel consumption is higher and it's not nimble. But I'd prefer that you get the manual, I don't think it'll be that hard on you. The steering and gear changes are very smooth. There's nowhere I haven't been with this car, I've driven it in the heaviest traffic too and it never wore me out. But you've thought it through well, it really makes you happy as a household's second car and it's a trouble-free machine. My advice is to get the manual — once you get used to it you'll be very comfortable
