I'll be buying my first car, I really like cars that have character; my budget is roughly between 1.5m and 1.7m, and the cars I'm looking at are in the 250-300k km range — W205 C180 AMGs and Audi 2.0 TDI Quattro Sportbacks really catch my eye (I'm open to other suggestions too), but I don't want to end up practically related to the mechanics — aside from doing careful routine maintenance, I'm afraid of them running up extra costs. I'd love to hear your experiences with these cars. Others that have caught my eye: 520d f10 E180 2013 models. Note: some people have suggested a Toyota, but my preference is for cars that are premium, fun to drive, and have as minimal costs as possible.
