Powerful electric cars as a novice driver's first car

Original Poster

While waiting at the lights recently, a Tesla Model Y, also visible in the photo, caught my eye. It had a sticker on the back that said “Please be patient, new driver.” My view here is about cars that start at a minimum of 300hp — in the news we come across accidents with significant material damage caused by mixing up the gas and brake pedals, and what kind of damage a car with this much power could cause in such a case. But there's also this to consider: when you look at it, these are safe cars. Especially the driver-assist systems provide a completely safe driving experience. But there's also this fact: we've seen these cars' throttle get stuck, or lose control out of nowhere. My opinion is that for drivers who've just gotten their license, instead of electric cars, it would be better to get slower and still reasonably safe cars like the Toyota Corolla, Yaris, Auris, or Honda Civic, Jazz. Thanks for reading. Wishing you enjoyable drives

Actually, my opinion is that driving schools shouldn't be just a single exam with low-horsepower cars, but should have a 1-3 month probation period, during which both their adherence to the rules and their reaction to traffic are measured, and the license given accordingly
