Teapot (oil pressure) light

I have a 1.3 panel van Doblo; oil change, maintenance etc. all done, but suddenly this oil light started flashing. They said don't drive the car, but we've been driving it for 4-5 days and there's no problem at all. It gives this fault, and saying 'there's a problem with the gauge' we disconnected and reconnected the cable too, and 10 minutes later it started coming on again. What could the problem be?

It could be a problem with the oil level or the oil pressure switch — it'll be in your best interest to get it sorted before you drive it much more.

This happened to me on a car I was servicing. A 2006 E4 Multijet. It wouldn't go off despite every check. Whether we tried Mann, Filtron, or Opar, nothing worked. There was no issue with the oil filter or the pump. We hooked it up to the computer and did a service reset. It finally went off. Turns out that's how the first-generation Doblos signal a service is due. What's more, this light only started flashing above 120 km/h, and there was no message on the screen — just the flashing. I'd say give what I did a try.
