Car recommendation for 1.5-1.6M

I'm looking for a car with a nice design, decent performance, petrol or diesel doesn't matter, with a not-bad interior, what would you suggest? I currently drive a 2.0 TDI (150) Passat, so I want the car I switch to not to disappoint me when I put my foot down. Thanks to everyone who answers
