Burning smell

On my 2008 1.6 gasoline Mondeo, when I rev it high, I get a burning smell inside the car while driving, this continues for about 1-2 minutes even after going back to normal revs afterward. I couldn't figure out whether the cause is a burnt valve or an oil leak or some other issue. I'd appreciate it if anyone with knowledge could share.
