Which 0W-20?

Original Poster

We're going to do a periodic maintenance service on our Polo with the 1.0 TSI DLA engine. I'm torn between Castrol Edge LL IV, Mobil 1 X2, and LM 6200 0W20. All three are different in character, we could talk about it for hours, but at the end of the day it's still just "engine oil." Apart from a Samsun-Adana long trip once every 3 months, it's mostly city driving, and the car gets serviced every 10,000 km. My wife mostly drives it anyway, so my priorities are fuel economy, engine protection, and keeping the OPF trouble-free. Looking forward to your suggestions. Thanks :)

Hi, I'd like to add a question too — for the maintenance of my car with the 1.0 ecoTSI CHZ engine code, the service used Castrol Edge Prof. LL III 5W-30 oil. My car has passed 90,000 km, I'm not sure whether I need to switch to 0w20 oil. There are also rumors that services generally use 5w30 oil for all cars to avoid extra cost, and that they use this oil for the 1.0 TSI too for the same reason, but I'm not sure.

The authorized service told me that 0w20 is used from 2020 onward, and 5w30 before that, due to a revision in the engine. In my car, 0w20 had always been used even before that. Honestly, I'm in favor of continuing with the same viscosity. But of course it can vary depending on conditions. If you want to switch from 5w30 to 0w, you could also try 0w30, provided you keep an eye on it. By the way, I'm not just saying this off the top of my head, but I didn't want to write too long a post.
