Urgent: scented water spilled in the car

Guys, happy driving to everyone. Those who know will know, VW Caddys have a covered compartment under the rear seat mats. This compartment took in water. While looking for the source of the smell I checked and opened it up, the inside was literally like a lake. I soaked up most of the water with a cloth etc. but there's still dampness and the smell is bothering me too. I need a way to deal with this, what can be done, waiting for your advice and suggestions, happy driving
