Spacers

Today I looked at wheels for my 2011 Fiat Punto Evo, I really liked the "babayağa" 5x100 17-inch wheel and it looked great on my car, but the problem is my car has a 4-lug pattern while the babayağa wheel is 5-lug. Some say a spacer/adapter would work for that, but others say not to get it done, it's not safe. In your opinion, is a spacer unsafe, or if it's fitted properly at a good, quality shop can it be used without any issues
