Windshield cleaning

Original Poster

Hello, no matter how much I wipe the inside of the windshield, damn it, streaks remain; does anyone have a suggestion? From what I've researched IPA is recommended; I bought it but haven't applied it yet, and if anyone has advice about applying it I'd listen too

Some people use it diluted 50% with water. This morning a post came up where they first applied a baby shampoo and water mix (50-50) to the windshield with a soft detailing brush, then wiped it with an IPA mix on top. It could be worth trying.

The reason streaks are left is that you're just spreading the oil layer on the glass around. Put a few drops of liquid detergent or the interior cleaning product you use on a damp cloth and wipe the glass from the inside. Right after, spray IPA or glass cleaner on a glass cloth and go over it again - there won't be any streaks left.

My car had stains too - I put apple cider vinegar in a spray bottle, sprayed the glass and rubbed it a bit with a paper towel, let it sit for 10 minutes, then wiped it with glass cleaner - no trace was left.

Like my friend said below, vinegar is the surest solution, no need to try anything else.

Vinegar is acidic, and the haze on the glass has oil in it. The solvent for oil is an alkaline chemical, folks. The formula you're talking about doesn't work on most cars.
